INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
STEP 1 -TESTING THE PANEL Press the sun-shaped button. The LED will light up when the panel receives sufficient daylight to produce power.
STEP 2 –MOUNTING Position one solar panel where you would like it to be permanently installed. Make sure to leave enough room for both panels.
Angle both panels in such a way that they will be perpendicular to the strong midday sun, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This will change with the seasons. In spring and the fall a tilt between 40 and 45 degrees from the ground will suffice for most North American residents. A little less in the summer (about 20 - 30 degrees) and a little more in the winter (about 60 - 70 degrees from the ground).
Insert the center legs at the bottom of each aluminum frame.
Insert each mounting screw and tighten carefully. Do not over-tighten. Repeat for second panel. Make sure the second panel is within 10 inches of the first one, so that you may use the included panel-to-panel jumper.
STEP 3 -CONNECTION First, connect the panel-to-panel jumper from one panel to the other. Then, First, connect the GREY plug of the 10-foot extension cable to the connector of the solar panel. Then connect the charge controller (not included) to your battery. For more details concerning the operation of the charge controller, consult the instructions included with the charge controller (available at www.sunsei.com/Manuals). Connect the cable of your choice to the battery. Finally, connect the other end of this cable with the BLACK plug of the extension cable. NOTE: Remove the connector caps before connecting the cables.
